|Dear Parent/Guardian in Ward 13,
What your child is learning, how your local school operates, and how much of your tax dollars are spent on education are directly affected by the policies and decisions of the Ontario Provincial Government. With a Provincial election just around the corner, your vote matters.
The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) has declared May 23 as Education Day. In support, Trustees from the Toronto District School Board are organizing All Candidates Meetings in our ridings. Because May 23rd is a TDSB Board Meeting, our events will be held on different days that week.
Education Day is a non-partisan event where local candidates from the four major Provincial parties are invited to share their views and answer questions on the issues affecting public education. Louise Brown, Writer and former Toronto Star Education Report will be our moderator. Please join us to:
- learn more about key issues that affect public education in Ontario
- find out where your local candidates stand on questions that matter to parents in your community
Education Day for Don Valley West on Thursday, May 24 at Leaside High School’s auditorium, 200 Hanna Rd, Toronto at 7:00 p.m. (Please note this event will be in place of the previously announced ward meeting on May 22nd.)
To learn more, read the TDSB document Investments in Student Education and visit OPSBA`s website for Resources for the 2018 Ontario Provincial Election.
Education Day is coordinated by local public school trustees and the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association. Follow the conversation on Twitter: #oed18

P.S. I want to thank everyone for their support and their patience during a difficult time for me and my family. I hope to thank you in person at the debate on May 24th, or at our final community coffee of this school year on June 8th (details will be shared shortly).
