Secondary School Info Sessions
November 2, 2011 — Megan WongAll schools offering Secondary programs are hosting information evenings, most taking place from November to January. The attached schedule shows the information nights split by region, and includes times and dates. Contact and program information about specific schools is available on the online school profiles.
The St. Andrew’s JHS After 8/9 evening will take place on Wednesday, December 7, 2011.

A big thank you to all our wonderful Grade 7 Families who baked their heart out!!! We had one of the most successful bake sales ever at St. Andrews JHS and we want to thank all our bakers.

CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING
October 7, 2011 — parentcWe are expecting a great day at our North cross country running championships on Wednesday October 12th at Earl Bales Park.
We are anticipating many parents and grandparents attending to watch their children in the races. There is a large concern around available parking. At this past Wednesdays meet, parking was not a big issue but on Thursday there were too many cars trying to get into the park and there were not enough spots available to park in causing cars to park illegally on the park roadways.
The organizers need to keep at least 20 spots open by the community center for park staff to use. The center also has programs during the day for senior citizens and an Ontario Early Years center that requires parking. School buses also need room to turn and in some cases park for the day. We do hire security guards to assist with parking but their powers are limited.
If the parking is not improved upon, there is a chance that the TDSB will not be granted a permit for next year. There is a need for cars to have room to travel in both directions and clearance for emergency vehicles.
Meet organizers are asking all schools to please informparents that parking will be limited and that any illegally parked cars will be tagged and/or towed.
A suggestion may be to take the TTC or to park on side streets around the park.
Unfortunately, we have been told that there will be zero tolerance for illegally parked cars.

MONOCLIFFS
October 7, 2011 — parentcOur final two groups of grade 7 students attended Monocliffs on Sept. 26-28 and Oct. 3-5. They had a terrific time.
