The communication between St. Andrew’s and Northern had a few challenges. So, in order to ensure that everyone who wanted the tour and talk at Northern received it, we arranged for another tour on the 8th. If you went on the previous date, there is no need to go to this one as well. Please remember that parents are encouraged to attend with their child if at all possible. Allso, please remember that your child must get to and from Northern on his/her own as this is not an official St. Andrew’s field trip.

We just attended the Gifted session on friday, feb 3 9.30. The staff at Northern waited for St Andrews students for 20 minutes, then started with the small group there! They called the school to find out they weren’t attending the tour which was 2hours. Is this a separate tour now

The gifted program will be re-evaluated every year so this is definitely not a permanent thing. Unfortunately, there has been a real inconsistency over the past few years as to the number of students in grade 8 gifted wishing to stay at St. Andrew’s. As a result, there is no way of predicting what the future may hold.

Is this something that will be reviewed each year going forward? My daughter is in grade 7 gifted..I sure hope the numbers are where they need to be for the 2013-2014 year!

On the announcements made to students at the school, they have been told to go to the school library on the first day (Wednesday, September 11, 2012 at 3:30pm) and then, depending on the number of students that attend, a decision will be made to split the group into multiple locations or keep them as one large group in the library. It is a fabulous opportunity.

The fact that the grade 9 class photos were not taken was brought to my attention last week. This was most definitely an oversight and will be corrected in the very near future. I have been in contact with the school photographer and we are just trying to arrange for a mutually convenient date to take the class photos. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
